Fireworks, glass, cherry blossoms… The world is full of ephemeral things. It is probably in our fundamental human nature to find beauty in such things.
Butterflies are probably the most ephemeral of these ephemeral beings.
The irregular flapping of its wings as if it could disappear at any moment, and its slender form as if it would break if you touched it. And the patterns on its wings, which have dazzled so many people, make butterflies a truly ephemeral form of art.
Because of its beauty, butterflies have been used as the subject of paintings and designs, such as the “Peony and Butterflies” design on Hanafuda (Japanese playing cards), but how do modern artists depict butterflies? In this article, I would like to introduce some butterflies on canvas.
